Frequently Asked Questions
Who are we?
The ClinLife is a small group of physicians and web programmers who have made it their priority to promote the benefits of clinical trials in the UK. We are funded by Clariness, a Swiss company offering different clinical trial services throughout Europe.
Why are we doing this?
In the UK, only 9 percent of adults have ever participated in clinical studies. If this number where higher, we could significantly reduce the cost of developing new medicine and make it safer for all. Hence we see a need to promote clinical trials, inform the public about the benefits of clinical trials and provide volunteers easy access to clinical trials.
Are we a government organization?
No, we are not a government organization. Nor are we affiliated with the pharmaceutical industry, a clinical research organization (CRO), or a medical testing site (Phase I unit). We are an independent company, focusing on the needs of study volunteers.
How do we support you?
We hope that this site gives you some insight into the benefits of clinical trials and helps you find a study that you may be able to participate in. If you have any questions, please email us at info@clinlife.co.uk .
How do you contact me?
While we may send you informational newsletters, we do not contact you directly for a trial. If you register for a specific trial, your contact details are forwarded to an investigator site. It is then up to them to contact you, which will either happen by phone or email.
Why should I sign up?
If you sign up with ClinLife , we will be able to provide you with updates about trials that fit your search profile, keep you up-to-date about developments in clinical research and notify you of our ever expanding services. It's easy and it's free.
Is it secure?
We encrypt all traffic involving private data between you and our servers. All your data is secured by a password, which only you know. We will only pass your information on to investigator sites (doctors) which have been contractually bound to use your data only for purposes of trial recruitment.
Is it for free?
Yes, signing up is free. Registering for a trial is also free. Actually, all our services for patients and study volunteers are free and will always remain free.
What is done with my data?
We will store your profile data on our servers. We may also pass your information on to investigator sites (doctors) which are performing trials and have a contractual relationship with us. These sites are contractually bound to use your data only for purposes of trial recruitment, and cannot pass them to a third party. We will never pass your data to anybody other than the aforementioned sites. If you would like to know more, please read the Privacy Policy.
Do you really consider me for studies?
We take your inquiries seriously. If you register for a study, your data will be automatically forwarded to the appropriate site. It is then up to the site to contact you. While we encourage sites to contact everyone who has registered, it may be that they have completed recruitment for the specific trial. If you feel that you should have been contacted, but where not, please email us at info@clinlife.co.uk .

What benefits are there for me?
In our view, you can receive some of the best medical care by participating in a clinical trial. You will probably be tested more thoroughly and monitored more closely than you would if you where receiving standard care. In addition you will be helping medical research, aiding ill patients in the future, and possibly contributing to a cure.
What do I do to be considered for a trial?
The easiest way to be considered for a trial is to sign up with ClinLife. After that, you can search for an appropriate trial. You can also opt to receive updates about trials matching your search profile via email. When there's a trial that interests you, you only need to register.
How can I be included in a specific trial?
By registering for a specific trial, you will be considered as a volunteer. But since trials have strict inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure its safety and scientific validity, there are chances that you may not actually be included. This process of screening is normal, and occurs for all trials. Regardless of the outcome, visit us here and share your experiences with us!
